Reapers Squelch Chiefs Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Grim Reapers picked up a win at The Coffin, knocking off the Caldwell Chiefs, 4-0. Starting pitcher Ray Harrison was a big reason why. Harrison, the winner, moves to 4-7. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. After today's action, Grim sits at 32-34; Caldwell slips to 35-31.
Tied up with the Chiefs in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Reapers got a boost from catcher Hung-chang Chang. With the bases loaded, Chang saw a 1-2 forkball from Jorge Santos and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Grim on top, 2-0.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Harrison told the Grim Times.
