Uruguayans Edge Past Otters, 7-6
|
The Germantown Uruguayans overcame a fine performance by Tulsa right fielder José Rivas to defeat the Otters, 7-6, at Ballpark of Hughesville. Rivas was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Ben van de Loo got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 2.2 innings. With the loss, Tulsa sinks to 7-4.
Germantown used the timely hitting of Enreecko-Edilberto Bibilone to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Uruguayans on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Bibilone, "but we got it done."
