Seahawks Snag 3-1 Win
|
The Kennesaw Jets got a sterling performance from pitcher Ethan Gilbert, but the Myrtle Beach Seahawks still prevailed, 3-1. Gilbert threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win belongs to Todd Gould in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Rafael Galván took the loss for Kennesaw. The save went to Phil Lewis, his 1st this season.
Myrtle Beach needed the clutch hitting of Ben Yunusov to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Seahawks on top, 2-1. For the game, Yunusov had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Yunusov.
Myrtle Beach is now 22-30.
