The Delmarva Gallos faced a tough opponent in Columbia pitcher Yermolay Olhivsky, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Cage by a final score of 6-1. Olhivsky went 5.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Delmarva raised its record to 51-35 with the win.

The River Rats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Gallos going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old center fielder Javier Bruno came to the plate. Bruno hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Columbia hurler Yermolay Olhivsky. It was Bruno's 13th home run of the year.

Bruno called the win "a collective effort."
