Vandals Top Hawks to Even Record
|
John Harper was a major contributor to the 8-3 Eugene win over Laredo. The Vandals right fielder was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Gael Rabbetts in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Kevin Horton took the loss. The 'W' lifts Eugene's record to 43-43.
With Eugene leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Harper hit a 2-run single off Laredo hurler Kevin Horton. It was the 55th hit of the season for Harper and put his team ahead, 5-0.
Harper called the win "a team effort."
