Toledo starter Chris Holland pitched well against the Nova Scotia Leviathan at The Dungeon in Halifax. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. Holland got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. Holland allowed 3 runs. Toledo, now 10-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The result might have been different, had it not been for Pedro Serano, the Toledo first baseman. Serano had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stingers ahead, 6-3. For the game, Serano had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Serano, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
