Hawks Fall Short, 5-4, at Huntington

Huntington and Laredo duked it out and the Hermit Crabs came out victorious.
The Laredo Hawks got a sterling performance from left fielder Luc Leroux, but the Huntington Hermit Crabs still prevailed, 5-4. Leroux was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The winner was John Pierce in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Mike Thomas took the loss.
Ron Burnett hit a 2-run triple off Mike Thomas in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Hermit Crabs in front, 5-4. Burnett had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"I felt good up there," said Burnett. "I saw the ball well."
Huntington is now 46-34.
