Yinzers Come Up Short at Grim, 5-4
|
The Grim Reapers weathered a fine game by Monroeville shortstop Roy Howard to upend the Yinzers, 5-4, at The Coffin. Howard was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win belongs to Álex Alagna in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gaspard Floris took the loss for Monroeville. Jérôme Fleury closed it out for his 8th save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Grim right fielder Jorge Marquis had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Marquis stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 5-4, Grim. For the game, he went 1-4 with a walk, while scoring 2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Marquis said after the game.
Grim, now 14-17, holds down 8th place in the Premier A.
