Reapers Lose to Blue Dragons in Walk Off
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons overcame a fine performance by Grim center fielder Scott Thomas to defeat the Reapers, 5-4, at The Cave at Levittown. Thomas was 5 for 5 with a double and 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Levittown reliever Lodovico Tadini got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jérôme Fleury was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Grim is 9-9.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Levittown first baseman Hwui-ning Chen, facing Apaghana Shachi, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Blue Dragons the 5-4 win.
Chen said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
