Anderson Now 5-3 After Subduing Vandals
|
Columbia beat Eugene on the strength of starter Arthur Anderson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-0. Tom Young, credited with the save, is now 18 for 21 in save opportunities. Columbia now owns a record of 28-32.
Anderson's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 12 strikeouts in 8.2 innings while allowing 1 hit. Anderson, who is tied for 8th in the SA in innings pitched with 73.2, goes to 5-3 on the year with 72 strikeouts.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Anderson. "Successful pitchers do it."
