Hawks Earn 7-6 Win Versus Chukars
|
The Laredo Hawks beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 7-6, at Hawks Field. The win was due in part to shortstop Emílio Soto, who was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The victory gives Laredo a record of 29-23.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Laredo trailing 6-5, Qing-lai Mak hit a changeup from Manny Negrete for a 2-run home run, giving the Hawks the walk-off win.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Soto.
