Gallos Earn 2-1 Win Against Hermit Crabs
|
The Huntington Hermit Crabs got a superb performance from pitcher Guillermo Quiñones. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Delmarva. The Gallos won the game, 2-1. Quiñones threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Delmarva reliever Curt Lowery was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Juan González took the loss. Delmarva is now 30-21. Huntington is 29-22.
Delmarva used the timely hitting of Seung-yeop Yom to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Gallos on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every loss stings," said Huntington manager Rafael Herrera. "This one is no exception."
