Hermit Crabs Suffer 4-1 Setback
|
The Washington Generals topped the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 4-1, in USSL Single A action at Washington Park. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Omaha, Nebraska, native Tom Thornton. The triumph puts Washington at 26-22 for the season.
Washington took a 3-1 lead on Manny Peña's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Peña hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Huntington pitcher Bob Kelley shaking his head.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Huntington skipper Rafael Herrera, "and it cost us."
