The Huntington Hermit Crabs did just enough to secure a victory over the Laredo Hawks, 4-3, at Hawks Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Brad Hehir. Hehir, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. Juan González nailed down his 14th save.
In the top of the first, Arhippa Rintala ambushed a first pitch cutter from Esteban Arroyo and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Huntington a quick 2-0 lead.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez.
With the win, Huntington goes to 27-18, while the Hawks fall to 24-21.
