|
The Laredo Hawks and Washington Generals obliged fans looking for a good time.
The Laredo Hawks defeated the Washington Generals, 9-8. Doing his part was designated hitter Ronald Dacanay, who went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Laredo reliever Arlen Mata picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Norberto Duarte was saddled with the loss. Bill Lawrence closed the game out for Laredo, earning his 1st save.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Dacanay, who is tied for 2nd in the SA with a .956 OPS, hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Hawks into the lead, 8-6.
Dacanay told a Laredo Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
