Columbia rode a good effort from starter Christiansen Chemnitz to beat the Washington Generals at Columbia Stadium. The final score was 5-0. The loss puts Washington at 7-2.

Chemnitz, a native of Long Beach, California, was dealing all game. He kept Washington hitters off-balance, while giving the River Rats 7.2 quality innings. Chemnitz threw 98 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.
