Thornton Now 1-0 After Subduing Commodores
|
The Washington Generals picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 3-1. Starting pitcher Tom Thornton was a big reason why. Rafael Ramos earned the save for Washington, his 1st of the year. Put-In-Bay falls to 0-2.
Thornton was effective for Washington, seldom allowing the Commodores to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 90 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Put-In-Bay to just 1 run on 2 hits.
"Every loss stings," said Put-In-Bay manager Rick Bell. "This one is no exception."
