Dacanay Delivers Walk-Off Win for Hawks
|
Fans of the Laredo Hawks who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Laredo win over the visiting Columbia River Rats, 5-1. Kevin Horton started for the home team against Arthur Anderson. Arthur Anderson earned accolades for his performance. Laredo reliever Dan Watson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Yoshida Sasaki took the loss.
Ronald Dacanay was the walk-off hero for Laredo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hawks designated hitter hit a dramatic grand slam home run to send the teams home.
Dacanay said his team "played with determination."
