The Northville Eclipse got a stellar performance from pitcher Tim Owens, who handcuffed the Providence offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Old-Timers Park. Owens picked up the win for Northville, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. The Eclipse have an impressive 59-35 record.
With one out in the bottom of the first, Kuan Pi barreled up a fastball from Rafael Ramos. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Eclipse in front, 3-0.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Owens. "Successful pitchers do it."
