The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Providence Pilgrims, 15-0, at Field of Plenty. Rick McCarthy, in particular, was impressive. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Mercer Island starter Jack Forrest was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 7-1. Mercer Island leads the Premier AA by 10½ games.

Mercer Island used a well-timed hit by Juan Tilve to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Tilve.
