Mylawn Excels, But Screaming Eagles Win
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles overcame a fine performance by St. Petersburg right fielder Getoff Mylawn to defeat the Thunder, 9-6, at Baby Thunder Dome. Mylawn hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The winner in relief was Jing-xiang Lingxin. He is now 3-0. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Victor Jones collected save number 1.

Matabei Maeda, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in triples with 4, chipped in for Mercer Island with a 2-run single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Mercer Island skipper Jesús Román.
