Northville Beats Bethesda, 5-4
|
Bethesda got a terrific game from first baseman Jack Plumb. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Northville, 5-4. Plumb went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Tim Owens, the winning pitcher, is now 5-2. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 10 and walking 0. The Eclipse have an impressive 54-31 record.
Northville used the clutch hitting of Ángelo Atenas to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll savor this win," Atenas told the Northville Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
