Thunder Hawks Earn 5-3 Win Against Mariachis
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and Nuevo Mexico Mariachis put on quite a show.

The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks had to overcome a fine effort from Nuevo Mexico pitcher Jeff McFarland to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Mariachi Band Shell. McFarland went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Ken Travis, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits.

Ft. Polk South relied on the bat of Dermott Mann to get the win. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 5-3. For the game, Mann had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Mann. "But it's all business when we're on the field."

The Thunder Hawks now have a record of 44-35 with the win over Nuevo Mexico.
