St. Petersburg picked up a win at Field of the Rawhides, bumping off the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-1. Pitcher Nicolas Cernin was a major reason the Thunder emerged victorious. Ramiro Valdés closed the door for St. Petersburg, picking up his 2nd save of the year. St. Petersburg has now won 6 games in a row.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tony Hernández? The St. Petersburg center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Thunder on top, 1-0. For the game, Hernández had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
