The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks bested the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 7-3, at Mercer Island Grounds. José García was one of the standouts. He went 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Ft. Polk South starter Wynn Kelley was credited with the win after throwing 75 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-1. With the win, Ft. Polk South upped its record to 42-32.

Ft. Polk South used the timely hitting of Bartolo Ayala to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunder Hawks on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Ayala called the win "a team effort."
