The Westwood Sixshooters weathered an outstanding game by St. Petersburg right fielder Getoff Mylawn to topple the Thunder, 7-6. Mylawn was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner was Westwood reliever Doug Ross, now 1-2. The loser was Bobby Teune. Westwood, with the win, sits at 16-39.

Westwood needed the clutch hitting of Ramón Semprún to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sixshooters on top, 7-6. For the game, Semprún had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
