Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Thunder Hawks
Providence got a terrific performance from pitcher Donald Nexport, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Ft. Polk South won the Field of Plenty contest, 4-2. Nexport threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Wilson Tamayo finished the game for Ft. Polk South and earned his 4th save. The win elevated the Thunder Hawks to 30-25.

Ft. Polk South used the clutch hitting of Bartolo Ayala to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

Ayala called the win "a team effort."
