Eclipse Roll to 8-1 Win Over Pilgrims
|
The Northville Eclipse picked up a win at Old-Timers Park, knocking off the Providence Pilgrims, 8-1. On the mound for Northville was right-hander Helge Zharuev, who played a pivotal role in the win. Zharuev, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. The Eclipse have an impressive 34-19 record.
Nick Davis, who is tied for 4th in the PAA in home runs with 13, contributed to the Northville win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We take it day by day here," said Davis, "and today was a good one for us."
