The Squirrel Hill Pierogis defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 1-0, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Rawhides. Squirrel Hill pitcher Craig Culver had a standout performance. Squirrel Hill now has a 3-game win streak.
Dave Hall, the Squirrel Hill third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 1-0, Pierogis. For the game, Hall was 1-3.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Hall told the Squirrel Hill Chronicle.
