The Squirrel Hill Pierogis defeated the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-5, at Field of the Rawhides today. Leading the charge for Squirrel Hill was third baseman Dave Hall. He was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Brian Thomas earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Pierogis go to 9-14 with the win.

Hall contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Squirrel Hill in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Hall took a curveball from Gerard Fyson and stroked the home run to left. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Pierogis to leap in front, 4-2.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Hall. "Just do my job."
