Nuevo Mexico picked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, toppling the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-4. Pitcher Peter Bradley was one of the reasons the Mariachis triumphed. The save was credited to Nathan May, his 7th. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Mariachis hope to make a postseason run.

In the bottom of the first, Manuel Peña hit a 2-run triple. The 1st triple of the season for the Nuevo Mexico designated hitter put the Mariachis on top, 2-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Peña after the game.
