Thunder Hawks Win at Westwood, 4-1
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks got a stellar performance from pitcher William Morán, who handcuffed the Westwood offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Sixshooters Stadium. Morán, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. The victory makes Ft. Polk South 13-4.
Ft. Polk South used a clutch hit from Dermott Mann to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"I really like what we did out there today," Morán said after the game.
