Rolls goes 3-for-4 in Turbeaus Win
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus topped the Tacoma Fur Traders, 6-5, with center fielder Royce Rolls playing a big role. Rolls went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Turbeaus in the win. Arturo Sánchez, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-9. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Luis Valdés was credited with the save for Gulf Coast, his 28th of the season.
Rolls made an early impact for Gulf Coast when he stroked his 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the second, put the Turbeaus on top, 5-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rolls told the Gulf Coast Today.
The Turbeaus now have a mark of 43-59.
