8-1 Loss Extends Ottawa Losing Streak
|
The 8-1 Virginia Beach win over Ottawa was due largely to Neung-uk Yi. The Whales center fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Ottawa now has a 6-game losing streak.
With Virginia Beach leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Yi hit a changeup from Victor Robertson for a grand slam home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Whales ahead, 7-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Yi said.
