Fur Traders Prevail, 4-3, Over Virginia Beach
|
With right fielder Tim Rawnsley leading the charge, the Tacoma Fur Traders defeated the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-3, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Rawnsley, who is tied for 7th in the SAA in RBI with 58, was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Richard Nudelman. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Pedro Garza finished to wrap up his 10th save.
Rawnsley had a key at-bat for Tacoma early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and gave Tacoma an early 2-0 lead.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Rawnsley told the Tacoma Chronicle.
Tacoma is now riding a 3-game win streak.
