Virginia Beach Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
In a close game at Virginia Beach Grounds, the Virginia Beach Whales edged the Richland Rails, 4-3. Virginia Beach shortstop Chet Davis stood apart with his performance. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. Virginia Beach goes to 58-33. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when third baseman Lynn Medlen hit a run-scoring single. The Whales went on to win.
"This place was electric at the end," Medlen said.
