Yi Leads Charge, Virginia Beach Blasts Turbeaus
The Virginia Beach Whales beat the Gulf Coast Turbeaus by a score of 13-3. Virginia Beach left fielder Neung-uk Yi deserved the lion's share of the credit. Yi went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Whales. The first-place Whales go to 56-33.

Jessie Gibbs went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Virginia Beach. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bernard Miller. It was his 35th RBI of the season.
