Highlanders Upend Fur Traders, 2-1

The Asheville Highlanders got a magnificent effort from pitcher Arthur Anderson, who kept Tacoma hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Highlanders win at Ballpark of Tacoma. In 6 innings, Anderson surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Tom Young closed the door for Asheville, picking up his 1st save of the year.
The Highlanders got an important contribution from first baseman Yong-oon P'i, who in the top of the fifth punched a 1-1 fastball into right for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Highlanders ahead, 1-0.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Luis Barroco.
Asheville has 3 straight wins, Tacoma 5 straight losses.
