Rails Suffer 6-3 Setback
|
The Ottawa Nationals defeated the Richland Rails, 6-3, in USSL Double A action at Rails Ballpark. Ottawa pitcher Joseph Ferguson had a standout performance. Ferguson went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-9. The Nationals go to 34-54 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for Ottawa, had it not been for Keith Bender, the 23-year old center fielder . Bender contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Ottawa up, 5-3.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ferguson.
