The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas trumped the Marquette Miners, 8-4, at Marquette Stadium. Chesapeake designated hitter Walt Reed was terrific. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Chesapeake now sits in 4th place in the Silver AA at 45-39.

In the top of the first, Reed pounced on a 1-0 slider from Archie MacMurchy and hit a 2-run home run. It put Chesapeake on top, 2-0.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Reed told the Chesapeake Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
