The Virginia Beach Whales beat the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 3-2, in 11 innings. Virginia Beach center fielder Victor Jensen, in particular, had a fine performance. He belted 2 home runs. The second-place Whales have won 5 straight.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Lynn Medlen's at-bat in the top of the 11th was vitally important. With two out, the Virginia Beach third baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
