7 Straight Wins for Guinea Pigs
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs racked up a win at Experimental Stadium, bumping off the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 4-2. Korbin Dallas, who started for Gwinnett, pitched effectively for his team. Gwinnett pitcher Virgil Gilbert got the win, upping his record to 5-3. Anil Seshu got the loss. Gwinnett has now won 7 games in a row.
Gwinnett won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs and Anil Seshu on the mound for Chesapeake, designated hitter José Moreno hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Guinea Pigs fans to their feet.
"I like our moxie," said Guinea Pigs manager Tabor de Maria.
