With center fielder Darrell MacGregor leading the charge, the Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 14-1, at Mobile Home Park. MacGregor, who is tied for 3rd in the SAA with a .380 on-base percentage, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Arturo Sánchez got the win, improving to 2-7. He held the Highlanders to 1 run on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The 9th-place Turbeaus have won 4 consecutive games.

With Gulf Coast leading 9-1 in the bottom of the fifth, MacGregor came up to bat against Asheville pitcher Ramón Vázquez. MacGregor hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Turbeaus on top, 12-1.

Asheville manager William Franklin called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
