Getting an impressive start from Pabiyan Ajiganoff, Asheville beat Marquette by the score of 4-2. Asheville reliever Ryan Long picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Shan-bo Kang took the loss. Asheville's record now stands at 37-35, placing them 6th in the Silver AA.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Reynaldo García came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Marquette pitcher Christian Hebert, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Asheville on top, 3-2.
"We put together a nice win," García said.
