Asheville designated hitter George McMahon helped his team beat the Marquette Miners, 5-4. McMahon, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2039 draft, went 2 for 3 for the Highlanders. Asheville pitcher Tobin Basch got the win. He's now 2-3. Archie MacMurchy was tagged with the loss. The 6th-place Highlanders improved to 36-35.

McMahon had a key at-bat for Asheville early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Asheville an early 3-0 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," McMahon told the Asheville News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
