Turbeaus Get Past Richland for 3-2 Win
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus scored a tight 3-2 win versus the Richland Rails at Rails Ballpark. Gulf Coast pitcher Kevin Hamm held his own in the contest. Hamm went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 1. His record improves to 2-6. Luis Valdés, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 18th save.
Gulf Coast used a timely hit from Erwan Michel to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Turbeaus ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Gulf Coast manager Pancho Vargas.
The victory puts Gulf Coast at 27-40.
