Highlanders Win at Gwinnett, 3-1
|
Asheville picked up a win at Experimental Stadium, bumping off the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 3-1. Pitcher Cole Howard was a major reason the Highlanders emerged victorious. With the victory, the Highlanders upped their record to 34-31.
It could have been a different outcome for Asheville, had it not been for Lenny Taunton, the 23-year old catcher . Taunton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Asheville up, 1-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Asheville skipper William Franklin.
