Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Cangrejos Fantasmas
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas beat the Virginia Beach Whales by a score of 9-5. Chesapeake catcher Nestor Soliman deserved the lion's share of the credit. Soliman went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI for the Cangrejos Fantasmas. The 4th-place Cangrejos Fantasmas improved to 22-20.
The most important at-bat for Chesapeake came in the top of the ninth inning, when first baseman Norbert King stroked a 0-2 fastball to center for a 2-run single, putting Chesapeake up, 6-5.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," King told the Chesapeake Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
