The Richland Rails got a stellar effort from pitcher Ashley Blamey, helping Richland score a win over the visiting Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 4-1. Blamey went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-1. The save went to Eldon Williams, number 13 for him.
Glenn Seals put Richland in front, 4-0, when he took Randy Smith downtown. His 3-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 4th home run of the season.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Blamey said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
After today's action, Richland sits at 20-22; Gulf Coast slips to 19-23.
