Rails Pick Up 6-1 Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Marquette Miners and Richland Rails get after it.
Starting pitcher Andy Burns was a major factor in the 6-1 Richland Rails triumph over the Marquette Miners. In 8 innings, Burns surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.
In the bottom of the first, James Childs hit a 2-run home run. The 5th home run of the season for the Richland first baseman put the Rails on top, 2-0.
"We had a nice day," said Richland skipper Dave Orchard.
The Rails saw their record improve to 18-20.
